Experience

I am currently working in the School of Planning and Geography at Cardiff University. Over the last decade I have been involved in academic research on cross sector partnership working; organisational change and development; urban policy, regeneration and sustainable communities; social exclusion, crime and community safety; international governance and civil society activism; animal welfare; quality food food assurance; and halal and kosher meat markets. I have also been involved in policy evaluation/ consultancy work for local/ national government and for the National Neighbourhood Management Evaluation Team.

During this period I have worked at the Cardiff School of City and Regional Planning and for Cities Research Centre at UWE in Bristol. I have also worked for and carried out research for Oxfam, the Research and Information on State Education Trust and Ipsos Mori.

As a freelance social researcher I have recently conducted research on volunteering, partnership working, migration and destitution in the UK asylum system. My current research interests revolve around international migration, the halal market and animal welfare.
